Affordable Housing

Wednesday, October 1, 2025 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
Garner Woman's Club
230 - US HWY 70 WEST Garner, NC 27529

Topic: Affordable Housing

Speaker: Erika Brandt

At this meeting, you will learn:

  • Raleigh’s housing affordability crisis is driven by demand outpacing supply.
  • Rising costs and low vacancies directly fuel homelessness.
  • Lack of affordable housing, not substance use or mental illness, is the structural cause.
  • Proven solutions exist, but require resources and political/community will

Bio: Erika Brandt serves as Assistant Director of the City of Raleigh’s Housing and Community Development Department, where she shapes and implements initiatives to increase housing affordability and end homelessness. With over a decade of experience in affordable housing policy, programs, and finance at the state and local levels, Erika is dedicated to fostering equitable development and housing affordability through good government and public-private partnership

Our location is at
230 US Highway 70 West in Garner, right next door to FastMed Urgent Care. The building looks like a brick house, so don’t be surprised—it’s easy to miss if you’re not looking for it!
