Insuring Your Real Estate Investment Properties

Tuesday, June 20, 2023 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM
The Women's Club
3300 Woman's Club Dr Raleigh, NC 27612

If one of your investment properties catches fire today, are you certain it is insured adequately? If your tenant suffers carbon monoxide poisoning from a heating source inside of your rental, would you be covered under your liability policy if you’re sued?  As a real estate investor, you probably already know the importance of insuring your investment properties. However, would getting just any insurance policy be sufficient to protect your investment? The short answer is, no. Your insurance coverage should be specific to your business strategy, geographic location of the properties, and your risk appetite. Ignoring or neglecting any of these components can have a drastic impact on your bottom line following a loss.

In this presentation, featuring Seth Markum, VP of Business Development at National Real Estate Insurance Group, the nation’s largest insurance Program for RE investors, we’ll discuss how to insure your investment properties to minimize your exposure. Seth will teach you about the insurance options available to you as an investor, so you can be confident you are covered.

Learn:

  • Levels of coverage available and how to evaluate what is right for you
  • Trip wires that may affect you in the event of a claim
  • Gaps in many policies and how you may fill them
  • What is available through NREIG’s property and liability program
  • How NREIG’s program can help you simplify the insurance on your property portfolio
  • New products available to you and how you can benefit from them

Seth Markum, Vice President of Business Development, has over 10 years’ experience in the property and casualty space. He co-founded one of the first national online commercial P&C agencies that harnessed the internet as a distribution channel before its mainstream acceptance. He has extensive experience developing innovative sales and service solutions. He brings this experience to NREIG to continue his efforts streamlining processes and distribution channels, developing strong relationships with industry partners, and educating investors on proper coverage for their investment properties.

COME FOR THE EARLY SESSION STARTING AT 5:00!

You KNOW you benefit from the advice and life experience of more seasoned investors, especially in a market as wonky as this one is.
We’re giving you the chance to meet those experienced experts, and ask them your ‘big picture’ questions, or even bring a deal that you’re working on to have them give their opinion.  You’ll have the chance to sit with these mentors in small groups and make connections you want; you’ll have the chance to hang with at least 5 different experts on different topics during the course of the evening.

If you’ve been intimidated by the success and knowledge of these folks (or just didn’t know who to go to for what questions), this is your chance to pick their brains in an easy, structured atmosphere where THAT’S WHY THEY’RE THERE!  (If you’re more experienced yourself, how about showing up to BE a mentor for the night? After all, someone helped you when you got started…pass it on!)
